PURPOSE
To construct a model of a drone with removable propeller guards and collapsible arms for storage purposes.
WHAT IS IT FOR?
This project was intended by our professor to be an exercise in modeling a complex assembly. Our team of 5 students constructed separate parts of a drone model found online and worked together to apply stress analyses on the final assembly.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The small drone had 4 arms, each of which were able to rotate such that they folded inwards towards the main body. When extended, propellor guards could be attached to the arms in order to protect them in the event of a collision.Â
